Project Life, 2015 | Week Twenty.
Hey Monday!
And welcome to week twenty of our Project Life album also referred to by the kids as “our book”. I love that.
Week twenty was a fabulous one around here. Our THRIVE t-shirts continued to reach all corners of the earth including America where the inspiring Becky Higgins received hers. Becky posted that pic you see on Instagram and shared the love, message and information about of our fund raiser for our beautiful friend Jen Lake. Not only was it a thrill that she got behind our efforts but it was also an amazing feeling to have this woman wearing my script. She has been a source of inspiration both creatively and business wise for me for many years. Our THRIVE t-shirts are still available here. You can read more about Jen and her situation over on her gorgeous blog Sunlight and Air.
The second super, amazing things that happened in our week twenty was that the Apple App Paint Paper Studio went live. About 6 months ago Olya Schmidt gathered myself and five other designers together. Our work is featured within the app. My package is called RAD. The Paint Paper Studio App is FREE to download and you can find it in the Apple Store. If you do grab it don’t forget to tag #paintpaperstudioapp and @paintpaperstudioapp so we can take a peek at your photos. I used examples of the app in my pages.
And finally, Studio Calico asked me to contribute to their gallery using their June kit called Galileo. It was a fabulous kit to work with. You can see what the other gallery contributors created here. I was sent so much product that I was able to create four weeks worth of Project Life spreads and some traditional layouts. I’ll be sharing all of those here on my blog in the coming weeks. I already subscribe to the Studio Calico Project Life kits so I have an entire Galileo kit arriving this week via my subscription. As I’m totally in the zone of not hoarding products I’ve decided to give the Galileo Project Life kit away. This will be happening in a blog post scheduled for later in the week.
I found the words that I used for our title card on Pinterest. I pin all quotes and phrases that I use on my Pinterest board called Words to Inspire. I absolutely love this collection of words by Alex Elle. If you are looking for a writer to touch your strong female heart visit her website Alex Elle. Amazing. Motivational. Beautiful.
I found a Zen List on Instagram posted by a local group @newcastlemirage. I’ve been working my way through the list of 10 and posting them on instagram as part of the #the100daysproject and #the100daysprojectofbrushscriptart. You can check all that out on my instagram @polkadotcreative.
See that photo of Scarlett flipping through “our book”. This right here makes my heart sing and keeps me motivated to continue to add to our Project Life album.
My running shoes. I hit a goal this week running 5km under 30mins. I was absolutely shattered afterwards but I didn’t care. I did it. I was so excited I wrote a post about it called ‘The Turtle has finally cracked 30″.
That awesome ‘this girl needs a drink’ stamp is from Kellie Stamps. It was a Friday afternoon and after our fabulous week I felt like celebrating. If you are after stamps with a difference and perhaps a bit of an edgy content visit Kellie Stamps. Kellie has just had another new release some of which are my favourite to date.
Each week I offer a weekly brush script offering. This particular week was all about Friday. Inspired by the amazing support shown all over the world for our friend Jen Lake and for the excitement and love of our THRIVE t-shirts. Seriously. My heart felt full. You can grab your free Happy Friday You Beautiful Human script here.
You can barely see it but in that centre pocket is an acrylic ‘currently’ word. I’ve just slipped it in there and sewn it in using my sewing machine. This photo of our Project Life spread also shows two photos that I journaled directly on to. I use an Artline black felt tip pen size 0.4 to journal on my photos. They are available everywhere, are relatively cheap and are quick drying.
The photo of the flowers and the photo of William and I show how fab the new Paint Paper Studio App is for adding to your original photos and then printing them out for your projects. The quality of the app is fantastic and its FREE! And for someone like me who is digitally challenged being able to digitally embellish my photos on my phone and then print them out easily and at such great quality makes me very excited.
Thanks for taking a look at my week. I’ll let you know when I have that giveaway for the Galileo Project Life kit!
Here’s to another fabulous week! XO
