Project Life, 2015 | Week Fourteen.
And welcome to week fourteen of our Project Life journey. Some weeks I tell more of our story than others but I do love to write. For me the words are just as important as capturing and sharing the photos. Keeping relatively up to date with this project means that the experiences captured are still fresh in my memory. I don’t mind if there isn’t any room left on the cards for embellishing. Just as long as that story gets told.
It was the beginning of the school holidays for us and we were really ready for the break. We had just celebrated Easter with family and a few days later the kids went to their dad’s for 10 days. I always find that time difficult only because I miss them so much. On the page I focused on telling the stories of our every day up until the kids left, added a couple of photos of what I got up to and also a photo that their dad sent me of Henry getting creative.
I love these photos of the girls on the trampoline. They were so excited that the holidays had arrived, as was I.
This ‘april’ wood veneer was in the kit. Very Ali Edwards. Before slipping it into the page protector I stamped the following weeks dates on the back of it so it will act as that weeks title card. I stapled three staples across the top of the page protector to keep the wood veneer in there however I didn’t want to staple the wood veneer still. I like that it will float around in there.
I typically print out all my photos 3×8.3×8 and 2.5×2.5 so that the photos fit within the 4×6 and 3×4 cards and so there is plenty of extra journaling room.
Apart from the April wood mounted stamps all the other products are from the scrumptious new Project Life kit from Studio Calico that was designed by Ali Edwards. I loved working with the white space and room for the story telling. I obviously wanted to keep the simple, minimalist theme happening so I didn’t use everything in the kit. I never feel compelled to use up all the products in one week of Project Life knowing that I will use them in the following week or combine them with other products from previous kits. BUT it is my ultimate aim to use up everything, eventually. No hoarding! (*wink, wink*).
