Lost your creative mojo? Try this!
Amy Tan has a free Creative Handbook available on her blog, Amy Tangerine, which she put together with her friend Jamie Waters (also a Mum of four!). Their Creative Handbook provides 5 Practices to help encourage inspiration, motivation and creativity which is especially handy if you are feeling creatively blocked like I was last night. I have only 3 days left to creative in our December Daily album and I just can’t seem to muster up the enthusiasm to finish it which is crazy seeing as though I was so excited about it in December.
The Creative Handbook is made up of 5 Practices that you can read through and apply to your creative life.
This the first Practice in the Creative Handbook. Print out this page and use it as a creative release anytime you just can’t seem to find your mojo OR if you simply want to create.
Let go. Create freely. Don’t think, just do.
The only product that I used were the things that were in my reach in my creative area. Watercolours are never far away, stamps (especially Kellie Stamps) are always close by, fabric swatches (I’m helping Stella put a quilt together), my tiny attacher, chipboard pieces, washi tape, Artline black felt tip pen, hand stitched tag and my old faithful date stamp (because I love to always stamp the date of when I created something).
I didn’t give a thought to where I was stamping, what I was doodling, what or where I was painting. And it was so beautifully freeing.
I highly recommend visiting Amy’s blog, signing up and downloading this FREE handbook. If you’re on Instagram (you can find me under @polkadotcreative) post a pic of your page and tag your photos #amytangerinehandbook.
You can read all about The Creative Handbook in Amy’s blog post here. Her post includes a fab video with Jamie.
Have a wonderful weekend all! XO
Thanks to Missy Moo for her company during the photographing of the Handbook page. XOXO
