DIY Journaling Cards | See beyond your floor and garden wall.
Hello Tuesday!
Over the past couple of weeks I have been putting in a big effort creatively in an attempt to get caught up with my 2014 Project Life journey. I’m a bit of a procrastinator but once I made a plan and actually started I gained momentum pretty quickly. Now I feel like I have my Creative Mojo back. The more I do the more inspired I become. I see this inspiration all around me. Even in my own home and backyard.
Journal cards. We all need them right? We’ve all had a go at making our own with embellishments and stamps and patterned papers. I love using all those things and do regularly.
What about using photos that we take of things around us? What if we used the lines of a table, a wall, a path as the lines to write within?
Here are some ideas.

My outdoor furniture that I revamped (blog post to follow) with a lot of straight, white lines.
Take a close up photo of the lines. Don’t get too close. Stand back a bit to give your journaling card as many lines as possible.

I printed the photo onto a piece of 4×6 glossy photo paper.

I journaled my story directly onto the photo. I have some Becky Higgins black pens available in my store. Sharpies work brilliantly too.

Here are some other examples.

Floor boards are perfect! If it’s a bit too brown for your liking convert the photo to black and white. Lighten it up if needed. I used StazOn ink to stamp the date directly onto the photo.

You can use the bricks of a brick wall to journal inside of for fun word placement.

The old roller door on our shed. I love the textured look.

The possibilities are endless with what you can take a photo of and use. And by using journaling cards that you create yourself you are really adding a huge part of your creativity into your Project Life album.
Have fun! XO
