I’m on the look out for a phone like this. I love everything about it. I love the colour (a red one would be scrumptious too). I love the chunky shape. I love the big black numbers. I love the dial. I think it would look fantastic in our little cottage, taking pride of place in the middle of a little hall table. I have the romantic idea of hearing that old fashioned ring. Old school.
I adore my iPhone and all the capabilities and accessibilities that it brings to my life.
What if we still had phones like this retro beauty? What if the mobile phone wasn’t an option? What if we went back to not being constantly contactable, constantly available once we left the house? No sending or receiving text messages. No posting or checking in on our social media accounts. No phone calls during important tasks like driving. No interruptions during a special moment like a school assembly or a catch up coffee with a friend. And what about that the cord?! What if, when we answered a call, we were tethered to the phone. I know I’m constantly doing other things while I chat away. Remember those telephone seat/table combos? What if you had to actually sit, pause, chat, listen? Would you spend as much time on the phone, would you become a better listener?
I’ll let you know when I find my old fashioned, old school phone. xxx
